Johnston Man Accused In Snowplow Thefts

A Johnston man faces felony charges in the theft of three snowplows.

Police were called to Johnston War Memorial Park on Wednesday morning after an employee with the Department of Parks and Recreation noticed the plows were missing.

Surveillance video from the overnight hours recorded two men in a pickup stealing the snowplows one by one.

Later that day police tracked the truck to a home on Jasmine Lane and they say one of the missing plows was attached.

The other two plows were found in a garage.

Forty-six-year-old Joseph Macari faces three felony counts of receiving stolen goods. Police are searching for the second suspect.
