North Providence Barricade Suspect Died From Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

A man who barricaded himself in a North Providence home on Sunday has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police were called to Towanda Drive shortly after 3 p.m. after the man allegedly threatened to harm his family and himself.

Police say the family members were able to exit the home, but the suspect remained inside and had access to a gun.

Police brought in a clinician to negotiate and State Police sent a drone into the home after losing contact with the man. According to police, the man was found with a self-inflicted gunshot to the head.
