Rhode Island's Peter Neronha joined a coalition of 23 counterparts in releasing a statement ahead of the U.S. Supreme Court hearing on birthright citizenship.
Neronha and the others say President Trump's executive order redefining birthright citizenship violates the Constitution, federal statutes, and the rule that has governed the nation for more than 150 years.
The coalition says it is proud to lead the fight against the unlawful order, and grateful for the injunctions they have obtained that prevented the action from taking effect.
The Supreme Court is expected to issue a ruling by early summer.
