An investigation is underway in Woonsocket after a student allegedly slapped a teacher and was found with a knife.
The Woonsocket Education Department says the alleged incident happened on the grounds of Villa Nova Middle School on Friday.
The school is taking disciplinary action, but due to privacy reasons, it cannot say what is being done.
The school says it is following procedures and is committed to keeping the school environment safe.
