Bruins defenseman Hampus Lindholm fired a pass from the boards in his own end to hit the Bruins forward in full stride for a break away and the win to extend the series.
Game Six is Friday in Boston.
Same Seven, if needed would be in Buffalo on Sunday.
Buffalo still leads the series three games to two.
