Three people suffered minor stab wounds at Narragansett Town Beach on Tuesday afternoon.
Police were called to the scene at around 3 p.m. as hundreds of people were trying to leave the beach at the same time and there were several small disturbances.
Additional law enforcement agencies were called to the beach, including Rhode Island State Police.
Two adults have been charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice but the arrests do not appear to be related to the stabbings.
Meantime, Nine people are facing charges after a brawl at Second Beach in Middletown.
Police were called to the beach shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday where around 12-hundred high school-aged students had gathered.
Police took a man into custody for acting disorderly toward the beachgoers and a second man then assaulted the officers.
Police say the crowd refused to clear out and pepper spray was deployed.
Several more people were arrested in the parking lot for disorderly conduct and obstructing officers.
In addition, an 18-year-old from Pinkham, Massachusetts was arrested for hitting a police officer while driving under the influence.
The incidents were unrelated.
