New Mexico's governor is announcing free college tuition. Michelle Lujan Grisham calls the program "an absolute game changer" saying it'll give more people access to higher education.
It's the first of its kind in the nation and applies to students at all 29 of the state's colleges regardless of income. If passed, it would be the first in the nation to pay tuition for all students, including those who can afford it. It would begin for the fall 2020 semester.
The program is expected to be approved by lawmakers.
